                AFAIK...
The CA legislature saw fit to amend the proposed legislation and remove any/all exemptions for CA CCW permit holders.

if you haven't bought ammo since 2016, is delay inevitable?

When I bought ammo recently all I took was my Real ID if I recall, that's about it, don't remember if the guy at the FFL asked me for my anything else.

No - if you still live in the same place, and your DL/ID has exactly the same address as used when you last purchased a gun.

I've got the CA REAL ID, but what if I moved recently and have not bought a firearm at the new address yet?

I can't buy ammo instantly for $1, and have to pay $19 and wait up to 30 days instead?

I think I might have a non-REAL Driver's license with my old address on it (where many guns WERE purchased).

                              Thanks.
