You missed the Animal House connection. Delta house was already on probation so Dean Wormer put them on double secret probation. Banning something that was already banned.

No I didn't - I saw Animal House in theaters when it came out, and was even sober for 1 of those 3 times I did!!!

Was a separate thought on par with the stupidity she is casting here.

Why stop with illegal guns? Let's make all crimes illegal, especially drugs; I think we could make some real progress if drugs were more illegal.....

                    Perfect summary of Lib Stupidity

So while looking for that quote from Biden about needing more laws because we cant enforce the current ones, I found this article that summarizes that mindset:

                              Some thoughts :

Remember how, at the end of a/any legislation session [doesn't matter which one, local/state/federal] the legislators 'grade' themselves by how many laws they passed and enacted? Mind you, no grades for quality/effectiveness, ONLY by quantity. Therefore there is absolutely no incentive to craft/enact legislation that would solve a specific issue because then there would be no opportunity in future sessions to 'fix' older legislation. A notable exception would be if any particular legislation would directly benefit the legislator's constituency/district or all too often the legislator themselves.

Also, if any legislation is particularly effective said legislators will use it endlessly in their upcoming campaigns to 'prove' how they deserve to be re-elected. Conversely, if any particular legislation is particularly bad then the legislators will put the blame on whoever is tasked in enforcing it such as the judicial branch and say things like 'they failed to correctly interpret the law' or 'they failed to abide by the spirit of the law'.

Even though one political party is more guilty than the other from these issues by no means is the other guilt free so there's that too...

Im reminded of how Feinstein complained about manufacturers not complying with the spirit of the law when they removed bayonet lugs democrats thought should be banned, because they are not sporting .
So exact compliance is not complying with the spirit of the law .
