    Any Good kits?

I've always bought my oil and cleaner separately, but I was wondering if you guys knew of any "All in one" kits for both handguns and rifles for maintaining firearms? I think Hoppes makes one but don't know if it's any good, any help would be greatly appreciated

The problem with kits is that you don't get much quantity and are usually replacing the limited supply pretty quickly anyway. You are also limited to the quality of whatever is in the kit...and kits generally don't include very high quality items. Then there is often times supplies in the kits that you won't ever use. Why pay for 10 different bore brush caliber sizes when you only own guns for three of them?

My advice is to simply buy exactly what you need. You'll get what you want which is almost always better quality than kits and won't be paying for stuff you don't need. And you will usually get a lot more quantity.

Spend your money on a high quality pistol rod and rifle rod...like Tipton or similar. Those are just about guaranteed to be of MUCH better quality than the rods in most kits and taken care of will last a good long time...maybe a lifetime.

Then find a good cleaner/solvent you like (I like Breakthrough Clean) and then lubricant or two (I like Wilson Combat Ultima Lube products), a bag of patches, whatever bore brushes you need, and whatever ancillary tools you need/want.

Pro Tip: Don't skimp on tools. Spend a little money and ALWAYS buy quality tools. Most will last a lifetime if taken care of.

FYI...Hoppes makes a great 8 inch carbon fiber pistol rod. Comes in longer lengths too...

I know it's not what your asking about but I do have a lubrication suggestion....

The Slip 2000 EWL and EWG is just fantastic lube.

Love the slip 2000 also use Carbon fiber rod for rifles and nylon bore brushes along with a bore guide so nothing gets in chamber.
