    Firearm purchase by non-resident?

What type of hoops are required to purchase a firearm by a no-resident?
Have seen several handguns for sale here, but sellers don't want to ship. Perhaps I can meet up in person at FFL and than pay seller and have them ship firearm to my FFL. In particular have seen several Ruger Blackhawks in 44 mag. On the flip side how is the best way to sale a firearm to California resident?

The seller can sell to an FFL and then ship out of state. I can’t imagine this to be cost effective for firearms that is still in production

        I’m confused

Are you a CA resident or non-resident?

If you’re are in a free state (NV) why would you want to buy from the CA market?

A NV resident can sell to CA resident by shipping the gun to a FFL in CA, this would be a transfer, not a PPT so FFL’s transfer fees apply. The sale is subject to CA roster if it’s a pistol. Some FFL’s will not accept shipments from an individual, so check into that with receiving FFL

You can buy a pistol from a CA resident if they are willing to ship to your FFL

Any transaction across state lines must go through an FFL

How about ammo, how hard is it for a CA resident to sell and ship ammo to an individual in another state?

I don't know how it is elsewhere, but when I lived in either NV or FL, I could buy a rifle in any state but if I wanted a handgun, it was only available for purchase in the state that I lived in. I've bought rifles in OR, WA, NV, TX, and FL.

Since I have moved out of California, I have still purchased guns from the Calguns marketplace. Believe it or not, there are plenty of deals here. My receiving FFL charges $20, so depending on shipping, it can be worth it.
Yes, if it's a current gun, especially if it's off roster, usually not. Some Colt and Smith & Wesson revolvers get sold here at good prices, plus quite a few long guns.

California residents are allowed that privilege as well for long gun purchases. But it is up to the selling FFL if they wish to sell to out of state residents. Some FFLs simply wont sell to Californian's simply because they don't want to educate themselves to CA laws & restrictions. Hence they just avoid it all together.
If a California resident does purchase a long gun in another State, they must comply with California laws when bringing it back home, ie California Compliant.

California law makes it so anything must be transferred at a California FFL. The exception being C&R if you have a C&R license (and COE?). The COE isn't required for the out of state C&R purchase, but it is to bring it back to California, as I understand.
