Multiple Pistol Hard Case - Know a good one?

    I have this one...

The problem is that the pistols I want to put in here are all full size 2011's with red dots and flared magwells, and as such the case isn't quite deep enough and the lid bulges a bit when latched shut.

Has anyone come across a deeper hard case similar to the one I mentioned?

Pelicans but they are expensive. You can also try to get the foam by itself and lay the pews sideways. In between layers of the foam. Thats what I did

this is the only way to do it - I picked up a used SKB case off this board at least 10 years back for maybe $40 & had some layers of foam cut for about $20 and have been using it ever since.... you can usually find used Pelican cases on craigslist, ebay or even amazon for 1/2 the price if not better and with the pelicans the precut layered foam for fairly cheap.

I didn't already have a my SKB I would be looking for a used Pelican 1510 and use it as a pistol case as well as a range bag

Yup can fit 4 easy in one layer. Largest pistol I have is the rhino 60ds and it fits perfect with the rest

Have the same problem once the red dot was added.
Keeping the handgun on a horizontal position requires about 7" internal dimension.
Bigger than I wanted but went with Monoprice Weatherproof Hard Case with Customizable Foam
            18.86" x 16.34" x 8.54" (479 x 415 x 217 mm) external dimensions
            17.64" x 13.58" x 7.32" (448 x 345 x 186 mm) internal dimensions
Sorry do not see it on sale, picked up for $60 August 2021
            Looks like $100, maybe Amazon/Ebay ?

            ...

If you change the angle it will fit in smaller case, Harbor freight Apache 3800
Do not have a red dot on my 1911s or flared magwell so not sure if it will fit at a angle.

            ...

I prefer the original size of the Apache 3800
            Exterior 16 1/2" x 13" x 6 3/4"
            Interior 14 7/8" x 10 5/8" x 6 1/8"

The other one I looked at was H Q Issue.
Was not able to get the exact internal dimensions.
They only reduce the dimensions by 1/4" from outside.
Do not believe inside so do not believe outside.
Have seen on sale for $60 maybe next sale will buy one.

            Exterior Dimensions: 16"w. x 13"d. x 8"h.
            Interior Dimensions: 15.75"w. x 12.75"d. x 7.75"h.

Take a look at Seahorse. I think you can even find them on Amazon. I like my case. 4-gun. 12 mags. Storage space in the middle for extra ammo / ear pro or eye pro or whatever.
Case Club is also on Amazon and makes some nice looking cases.

You could always design the foam so the guns lean to one side a bit (or a lot depending on your height deficit) when snuggled in.

I prefer the guns to sit with the long axis of the case; you can open the case on the bench with barrels pointing downrange and still have some bench space to work with.

That said, there are tons of sizes of cases around. You should come up with hard measurements needed before choosing.

Check out Case Club. They have several cases with different sizes & configurations. I’d be surprised if they didn’t have something to meet your needs.

The Harbor Freight Tools Apache Case is hard to beat in terms of bang for your buck. Comes with square pluck foam, and if you add a can of plasti-dip (to harden the foam); it's hard to justify those other expensive brand names.

At the end of the day, it's a case that's meant to take a beating and protect its internals.
