    Turners Fountain Valley

10 days ago a fellow Calgunner and I went to Stockade to do Private Party Transaction (actually 2, since we were trading). We were told that they were too busy. Mind you, this was Saturday at 11 a.m. Ooookay, so now what?

Called Turners Fountain Valley and the fella who answered said something like, no we're not too busy to do PPT, so off we went. Henry presided, but there were couple of young guys helping us do the transaction. Fast, courteous, no fuss transactions. In and out in less than 30 minutes to do the two PPT.

Today, I went to pick up my rifle. Once again, fast and courteous. In and out in less than 30 minutes.

Big ups to Turners Fountain Valley for their customer service. They also had good supply of 9mm, .357 and 223 ammo, too.

Turner's in Redondo is just like this. Great experience. Martin Retting will do it but not before a song and a dance. Isn't there a law that they have to to PPT's? They may make it a pain, but they can't turn you away, can they?

I also transferred two pistols at Turners FV. Quick and painless. FN 5.7 and HK SP89 10 years ago. (They loved the SP89.)

Yeah, another thumbs up for Turner's in Redondo Beach! They are courteous and efficient. Have done a few PPT's there lately and never a frowning face or BS excuse.

Rettings, however, will give the sour face and the same BS excuse (we're busy right now, you'll have to come back in a couple of hours). We typically have to wait about 15 minutes until they realize that we have noticed their "2 hour" busy excuse didn't pan out and there are salesmen just milling around, then they have to take us.

Do you work for Turners? It's rare to see a positive Turner's thread.

No I don't. And frankly, I've always been baffled by negative Turner's threads since I've been to several locations (including now closed Stanton store) and can't immediately think of any time that I've had a negative experience. Oh I'm sure there had been minor issues, but nothing that ever stands out as being particularly bad.

This is in contrast to my experiences at Stockade, Ades, now defunct Tustin Guns, Sportmart (when they used to sell guns and ammo), etc.

Another +1 for Turners FV and PPT service. I don't go to Turners for information but they can do a PPT and have good sale deals from time to time.

8 posts and no one has complained about Turners yet?
                  That's just not right...

Same here. Made a couple of gun purchases there with no problems. Orange store is also generally good. (needs more stock)

I've been to 4 different Turner's for PPTs, no problems at all. I have only had one bad experience in many years at a Turners and that with a single employee, when I went back later I talked to a different employee who made everything right. A better average than I have had at a couple other gun shops.

I did a trade at Pasadena Turners and it went smooth although they had to do 2 DROS forms. The guys were nice. The only Turners I had a problem with was in Norwalk.
