So I know you can only purchase 1 firearm in a 30 day period. My question is does that same 30 day period apply to ptp transfers?

you can only purchase/transfer one HANDGUN per 30-day period, with certain exemptions, such as PPTs or cosignment purchases. You can purchase as many PPT/cosignment handguns as you can afford, without worrying about the 1-in-30 rule. Long guns are not included in the 1-in-30 rule.
LA does not exempt PPT/cosignments, and I know that SF has tried to pass some laws regarding handgun sales, but I don't recall a separate 1-in-30 rule in SF.Jack
