I would say it's worth it if it's a DROS denial. Sit tight

Does your dealer release on undetermined?
If so, just wait out your 30 days and go pickup.
No need to spend the extra money.

If they do not, then do the livescan and a new DROS.

Another day, another DOJ civil rights violation.

I've done several livescans for jobs.

I wouldn't pay for one. You'll have to pay about $100 if you want one.

Dang it. 100.00 for a livescan? Not worth the trouble.

Okay, first things first next time choose an FFL that delivers on delay such as me! 2A Zone. Aside from that let's imagine you get denied. It won't matter who you use then because the outcome will be the same. Total Livescan fee if you get denied will be roughly $50, and if you don't do it you'll never be able to buy a gun in effect. The live Scan will tell you why you got denied and allow you to fight it in court or with a form letter that clarifies what's going on. It could be something as simple as they think you are somebody else or it could be something as crazy as hey you remember that dude you murdered? Yeah that's a lifetime ban. If you get denied, get the live Scan otherwise just sit tight. As an aside, we also do live skins in house exactly for these situations so you can do it with us if you'd like and it comes to that

Prices are all over the place between $50 and $90 depending on what you need and who it's for.
If you need both federal and state, it's more than just state.

I got federal and state for $89.

You may be able to get one at your local police department for less. Generally, they don't like to do them so they may give you all kinds of excuses or schedule you 2 months down the road.

Like I've said so many times here, go to an FFL who releases on undetermined. At this point, a Live Scan won't do much. If you get denied than it's worth it to at least find out why, so that you can fix it.
