Your assertion that our rights are nonnegotiable is correct. However, while tyrants and fools are not supposed to be able to cancel or vote away our rights, it happens anyway. We have corrupt politicians and courts, and in general a populace that has the audacity to tell others how they must live. So what you wrote is great, and I agree with it, but unfortunately not much of what freedom loving people think is important has any bearing on what our system prohibits and enforces.

Laws are intended for the law abiding. Criminals are not expected to obey them.

Politicians try to promise that all gun crimes will go away with their new gun control law, knowing full well that it is not going to do anything. But getting funding for passing their new law and skimming off the top of the funds works for them, also knowing the next new gun control law is waiting right around the corner with the next violent criminal act.

laws are not a deterrent, punishment is. the democrats maximize laws while minimizing penalties. this is a backwards way of doing things as it benefits criminals and penalizes the law abiding. people who help criminals should be in prison

Pure statistics clearly show that gun laws only harm the average citizen and have zero effect on the criminals. They also show that where gun laws are the strictest is exactly where Joe Citizen and his family are most at risk of being victims of a criminal with an "illegal" gun.
A friend of mine owned a polling company. He could produce any result his customer desired. It's all about how you frame the question and knowing your audience. He could even show support for either candidate just by changing the phrasing of questions - same question asked a different way can produce opposite results.
Would you ban allowing criminal to have guns - of course yes and it's already a law.

Criminals will still find a loophole around "laws", why? Because they do what they want and don't care about the repercussions, gun laws were intended to stop the good civilian from owning and buying guns.
