They sent out an email looking for employees. From what I hear, it can't be a very challenging job. Could be a quick way for a retiree to pick up some nice employee discounts. Plus be the first to snag primers, powder, and ammo as it comes off the truck.

In order to work in a gun store, one must have the ability to dispense the employer prescribed amount of FUD in order to fulfill tradition and employer requirement.

It's a lot easier to act dumber than you are than the other way round.

Just work long enough to get the discount and then quit. I was talking to some of the feed store employees, and that was their plan.

What kind of employee discount?

I don't know but I would imagine it's fairly substantial. The feed store employees I talked to took their jobs just for the discounts. Plus first shot at the newest guns. You wouldn't think a feed store in a hick town would have much cool stuff, but they've had SIG Legions and some other hard to find SIGs, HK-94/MP5 copies, Mossberg Shockwaves when they were hard to find, etc.

Do you like dealing with know it alls, know nothings, people who have no business even thinking about guns, wanna be gang bangers, pissed off fisherman with an alaska driver license mad that he cant buy a shot gun with out being a california resident? If so working in any gun store is for you. Most people just work there for the discount. It sucks. Pay sucks. Management sucks. Customers suck (especially Calgunners). If you also like hearing the same bitching about CAs laws ad infinitum, then perhaps its a great place for you.

I just laugh at these anti-Turners posters (or srye they posers?). They have soooo much to say about Turners that they must go to Turners often to have the depth of knowledge they (pretend to) share.

I've been in line at Turners behind some of these posers, and I admire the patience of the folks behind the counter. The counter folks listen patiently to the drivel from these posers knowing full well that said posers have not gotten their allowance from their mother this month nor her permission to buy a new gun.

I have shopped and bought at Turners many times and the experience has always been good to great, with the biggest challenge being the number of lookyloo posers in the shop slowing things down.

Last time I was in Turners (couple months ago), I did a PPT. Took about 30 minutes. Including the wait for my # to be called. Maybe I got lucky.

Some of the guys have said it's nice to have first dibs on consignment guns.
