    Remington Bore Cleaner

    Howdy Folks,

I'm wondering if anyone here knows 'the skinny' on the Remington abrasive bore cleaner (comes in a yellow bottle, I read it's mineral spirits mixed with some kind of pulverized earth). I see the stuff at WalMart and have been tempted to try it out on my CMP Garand (lots of copper fouling).

Is it labeled Remclean? I think that stuff has diatomaceous earth as the abrasive cleaning agent. If you're bore is particularly nasty, give it a try.

I use JB paste infrequently when I feel the need for some serious cleaning power.

I have some and hardly use it. It doesn't clean that well for me. I don't think I'll ever buy it again. Go with something like Butch's or Sweets instead.

Boots (Obermeyer) has a favorite bore cleaner. It used to be called "Gold Medallion." They changed the name to "Remclean."
