    Colorado congresswoman has an idea

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) voiced her support for the fight against an ATF gun registry, describing anti-registry legislation as "BleachBit."

On Tuesday, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) voiced her support for the fight against an ATF gun registry, describing anti-registry legislation as “BleachBit” which will erase ATF files the way Hillary Clinton allegedly erased her emails.

Earlier in the day, Breitbart News reported that Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX) was introducing the NO REGISTRY Rights ACT to require the ATF to destroy its accumulated records on gun sales / transfers..."

    Bravo!
I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.

The last time I had faith in the News was when it was with Huey Lewis.

A better solution would disallow them from collecting the information in the first place. There's no need to send purchase information for a background check, for example.

It would be nice if this were to pass, even better if ATF were to actually obey the new law.

Nancy won't pass it, Brandon won't sign it. Maybe in 2024 or 2025?

Could happen with 2022 red wave, where Congress could override a veto.

that would be great, except we all know the progs would keep a backup drive of the files.

we need more repubs to join them and be vocal about it.

Yeah but then hoping a red wave in Congress will put 2/A rights near the top of any agenda is wishful thinking. There have been majorities in Congress before, gun rights are something politicians cater to during campaigns but then after they are in office they are too busy to care much. The way it works has been clear for a while. When the repubs have control instead of strengthening gun owner rights they just hold new control at bay and that appeases a lot of gun owners.

The reason we're all hoping for the SCOTUS to save 2/A rights is because Congress didn't pass laws to support and secure the 2/A past lip service.

With Boebert, read some of the stuff posted on forums, half the knee huggers just want to fantasize about a date night. Send a donation instead because she's been targeted by the dems for extinction.

Probably the only way to get Congress, even with a repub super majority to do anything about gun rights is to make sure they know that if it's not part of their primary agenda then they'll never win another term - period. Other interests seem to be able to do that, for some reason gun owners can't.

Someone starts an attendance event about some social issue and they can get thousands to show up. Media shows up. Politicians take notice and pledge support. Gun owners try the same thing and 5 people show up and 4 of them are busy taking pictures of each other and 3 of them show up dressed for an audition in a Rambo movie.

Cynical? History is a good teacher.

This seems so strange, politicians doing something for the people. What’s the trap?

                              .

History is the republicans passed protection against lawsuits against gun manufacturers and the Firearm Owners Protection act are only 2 of many more .

IIRC we had 10 of thousands show up for gun rights in the early 90s .fact is until Fox ,OAN and few more news outlets have majority viewers and rallies get covered we will not get the respect we are entitled to.

Think if 1/3 of gun owners were NRA ,things might be better ?
