Damn, I’m torn between doing the 1 hour drive today or staying home and refinishing some wood furniture. Would hate to waste the time driving there, only to walk in, be disappointed, and walk out in 10 mins. Not sure why, but I envision a bunch of misinformed, over-charging type vendors there.

The Ventura show has been terrible for years. More gun-adjacent lifestyle than guns.

Got to agree with sky on this one. Your better off buying from the marketplace here, a local gun store or GunBroker.

The shows here in California are dead
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Last gun show I went to was Glendale was shut down. And it's never been the same since Great Western/Pomona pre-2000.

With the internet making search for parts and vendors that have them, an endeavor under 5 minutes, with no inflated admission and parking fees, admidst ammo shortages, inflated pricing, and few to no worthy, high-condition/rare collectible guns offered at gun shows - I can't find any reason anymore to go to a gun show.

It's pretty much the same reason I haven't trekked on a fruitless treasure hunt spending hours in pick-a-part wrecking yards on a quest for hard to find car parts in over 20 years.

No need - Google it, or search on Ebay, and I've got 20 options by condition and/or price from which to choose.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

All the California gun shows went to hell after SB-23. Nowadays its the same tired vendors selling the same tired crap. And the real truth is I have never found a gun or ammo at a gun show at a price I couldn't beat at my local gun store.

And you'll pay $20-$30 (Parking and admission) just for the privilege of finding that out.
