Does the PPT get around the one handgun a month rule?

I know that the one semi-auto rifle a month doesn’t apply to used/consigned rifles nor does it apply to new manual action rifles. At least according to a few trusted FFL’s, as they both confirmed i could buy my most recent AR -
along with a few used/new manual rifles that caught my eye while i was looking.

Hazy on the handgun rules, tho.

        Yes.

There is no limit on how many PPT's you can do a month.
You can only do 1 handgun OR semi-auto rifle purchase/transfer per month unless you are somehow exempt of the 1-30 rule.
I don't believe there is any distinction between new and used on the 1-30 rule.
It's just that many used guns would be transferred as PPT's so they are exempt.
If your dealer has a used gun in inventory, it's subject to the same 1-30 rule.
If you have something shipped to your dealer for transfer, he has to put it into his inventory before he can transfer it to you so those "inbound transfer" guns all fall within the scope of the 1-30 rule too.

You're in Sacramento, you probably don't care.

LA CITY has its own 1-in-30 law; can't buy more than 1 in 30 days if the purchase inside the city limits of LA follows any PPT purchase outside the city.
