Do any of you wear gloves while cleaning your guns?

Curious if any of you are concerned enough about the various solvents and cleaners that you wear gloves?

Nope, I don't use any very harsh chemicals though.... If I were using something like mineral spirits to clean off cosmoline I would... because cosmoline sticks to everything and smells pretty bad and is very hard to make go away.

No, but I do wear gloves when loading my magazines.

Yup, I buy boxes of latex gloves from costco and use them for a variety of things. Cleaning around the house, guns, etc.

Yup because of the solvents/cleaners. But also because I don't want the gun going back in the safe with my grubby fingerprints all over it.

I do, but mostly so I don't smell like solvent for the rest of the day.

I always wear Nitrile gloves (the purple ones). Latex won't do squat with solvents. Your liver will thank you in 30 years.

The good news is, Costco just started to carry Nitrile gloves in place of the latex ones. I just stocked up and as usual, they are much cheaper to buy at Costco in bulk.

I always use gloves even when applying oil on the bolt/carrier and CH.

Nope. I do try not to touch the stuff and most of the time I don't get a drop on me. I keep a roll of paper towels next to me to clean off any tools after I use them. Every time the cleaning rod is pulled out I wipe it down.

The nitrile gloves are the ones I really should be using, but I only have the latex ones laying around the house. When I use MPro7 and CLP, I may or may not wear gloves. When I use the stronger stuff, then I almost always use gloves.

I do, some of the stuff I use is pretty nasty.

I use the blue nitrile gloves, they last longer than latext gloves. They're not impervious, but they last long enough through a cleaning session.
