COE Renewals: Current Lead Times?

Submitted my renewal request around 1/23/2022; was notified that they'd need my FFL03 number; provided it to CADOJ and resubmitted my request by email. After following up with email for them a few times I was told the following:

The information is noted on your application and your COE application status is: In Progress.

It can take four to eight weeks to process a Certificate of Eligibility. The COE Unit does not have an expedite process. Please continue to check your email or CFARS account for notification updates.

If an application is approved, a COE is available to print from the CFARS site, it does not get mailed to an applicant.

My COE just expired a few days ago; hope they'll renew it soon. Just wanted to get an idea of how long others have seen them take to get renewed.

Funny, they sent me the exact same email today word for word when the question I originally asked had nothing to do with this. Mine was from Operator #213. So they didn't answer the question I asked them and made me more annoyed that they are taking so long for a piece of digital paper that shouldn't even exist.

I did my renewal 60 days before expired. Cart paid.
Submit and upload everything correctly (FFL number + all ID requirements)
Check everyday to see if renewal came in.
14 days so far still (in progress)

Mine took 40 days from the day I submitted the renewal request.

I think renewals are happening more rapidly than new applications. I'm at 45 days so far. My FFL03 is just sitting here, being lonely and unused.

Planning on my latest C&R road trip in the Spring! In my previous collection that divorce made me sell off, I would estimate about 60% of my examples were purchased out of state. Some great scores, 1952 Winchester model 1894 is nice condition, $350 at a pawn shop in Kingman, Az. The list went on and on. In many states, C&Rs are still a relative bargain compared to the hyper inflated prices we pay here even for C&Rs.

The next expedition will take me through Nevada, Utah and Idaho in June.

Maybe by the Spring, California will deign to grace me with my COE even.

Mine was about 30 days. I forgot to do mine right away at 60 days out and it was expired for 5 days before renewed. My advice for anybody renewing there COE is to do it right away at the 60 day mark and if they request any information give it to them ASAP. Then you just have to be patient and hope they process it quickly...but know That will probably take at least Is 2 to 3 weeks or longer.

I tried the email route multiple times, but as soon as I modified my COE renewal details directly by entering the FFL number in the notes field, I was approved the next day. Coincidence?

Speak of the devil and it shall appear, I suppose: just got it renewed today.

The comments field for CFARS was a little messed up for me (didn't appear to actually save my FFL03 number) hence why I had to email them with the number anyway.
