    Pawn shops and consignment experience

Anyone care to share their experiences when taking their firearms to a pawn shop whether it's to sell or pawn?

How much of a cut did they want for consignment and did they find a buyer faster than you would have? Did they offer less than what you could have gotten from the marketplace?

For me, I wasn't in a hurry so it was easier to drop it off and not have to worry about planning a time to meet a buyer.
They charged 10% for the consignment, and it sold in around a month.
The money never left the store though, because when I went to collect, they had a used pistol that was right around what they owed me. We worked it out for an even sale.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

      its a broad question

IN CA, they are an FFL

so I would expect to pay 20-30% for consignment

you get to re dros the gun, possibly, if they dont sell it
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Don’t forget taxes on your sale.
