Inflation Not on Guns

No demand for run of the mill guns. Plenty of demand for ammo. The market shows it unless there's a price freeze. -
One thing to keep in mind is the European imports go up and down with the Euro. Strong Euro means our dollars are worth less to the Austrians etc. The weak euro is part of why HK stuff is so much more affordable than it used to be.Comment

don't forget, quality and technology changes... the Mossberg 500 today has different parts- fewer- holding the action bars to the fore end.
Machining is rougher
Molly resin finishes on S&W and most pistols hides machine marks- those were visible and had to be removed when bluing a gunRule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Guns are definitely up now from inflation, whereas before it was supply not meeting demand. Higher inflation means higher overhead and costs to do business. Not to mention higher wages. It just costs more for a gunshop to sell a gun now.
We'll see if demand for guns falls as the Russia-Ukraine war might cause hyperinflation and a recession. Most everyone that panic bought a gun has one now and a couple boxes of $2/rd 9mm. People might be less interested in buying guns and ammo and more interested in buying everyday essentials and gas as prices continue to rise unchecked.
In fact, I wouldnt be surprised if more people start selling extra guns to raise cash. Already starting to see some great deals on used guns in the CGN marketplace. More to come if I had to guess.
I think new Glocks are on their way back down to $499. I bet that will be the norm by the summer.
I noticed Berettas have come back in stock recently everywhere at $100 more than they were before. Im guessing everyone will try to get top dollar at first and then they will come back to $600 range by the summer.Last edited by Tere_Hanges; 02-21-2022, 8:59 AM.CRPA and NRA member.

I was just about to mention the shield, from my understanding and experience it is a sub $300 pistol and anywhere you go to try to find it new, you won't find it for less than $500, pretty crazy.Originally posted by Black306S&W Shield went up from ~360 when I bought it almost 3 years ago to ~500 today. SP-01 went from ~650 2.5 years ago to ~850 today. Have my eye on a Beretta 92 FS INOX; it’s going for ~800 now-a-days; thought they went for ~650 not too long ago. Glocks seem to be a solid 50 more lately for a comparable model.sigpicComment

The least expensive part about owning guns is what you pay for the guns unless they sit in a safe most of the time.
.Let Go of the Status Quo!
Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?
Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.

There are sales with those firearms between 6-700 where as they were likely 599 before covid. I think my point is they went up during covid - not due to "inflation" and they haven't continued to increase if anything they've settled a bit - which is a good thing.
I also tend to believe since the dollar itself is worth about 20% less since covid buying these firearms isn't a bad thing at all. Also considering the dollar is likely to lose more value in the year ahead or years ahead these at 600-700 are likely pretty good buys.1. Compared to what?
