Angeles Range on Friday- anyone else going?

I have Friday off and figure I would hit the Angeles range to break in my Sharps rifle and test out my reloads.

Anyone else going to Angeles range on Friday?

I usually go on Fridays because it's pretty tame, who knows though, a lot of people might have the day off and it might be nuts... I might head up.

I was thinking of getting up there around 10:00'ish. If anyone else will be there stop by and say hi. I will be the guy making lots of smoke on the rifle range with a Sharps rifle and muzzleloader. I might bring my Garand as well but that's a lot of stuff to lug around. Definitely my Sharps and m-loader thought.

Now I just need to find an inexpensive spotting scope. Does Costco still sell them?

Made it to the range around 12:30 pm and stayed until 5 pm. The range was packed on both the rifle and handgun sides. This surprised me because I figured there wouldn't be that many people there because it was a weekday. I saw a lot of AR's, Ak's, M1 Garands and M1 Carbines, some bolt actions and even another muzzleloader besides my own.

My Sharps rifle shot well, I just need to figure out how to shot a rifle consistently. I had several shots in the bullseye (two on my neighbors target which I shot by accident) but a majority of them were scattered on the target. After 60 firing 60 rounds of 45-70 in my Sharps and a dozen in my .50 cal muzzleloader my shoulder said enough was enough. I actually have a bruise on my shoulder and I even was wearing a shoulder pad...ouch!

All in all it was a great day at the range. Not too hot, not too sunny and even though there were a lot of people there it really didn't feel crowded.

Did any other Calgunners go to Angeles today?

The last time I went to Angeles shooting range on Friday the rangemaster was on the rag. I'll go to "A Place To Shoot" instead, the range master is a cool dude.

I was there today. I think I was 3 or 4 benches to your right, on the rifle (left) side of the range. I was shooting AR15 service and match rifles prone and sitting. I left about 1:30 but I saw someone shooting a BP rifle. Looked like fun.

I wish I would know when other calgunners are at the range, I was there yesterday from about 12:30- 2:00. I took my AR but didnt end up shooting it, but had a fun time shooting my Remington 12-C tube-fed pump .22LR! Its nice to shoot more than 10 rounds! with LR, it holds 15 in the tube, and with short its like 18.

I was just plinking at the steel handgun targets, ended up going thru 330 rounds

Never had that problem ever, and I go every Friday.

Yea I was there too yesterday from 4-6. Was busy at first then was nearly empty, was a nice day. Was shooting my Tikka 308 and 20" AR.
