    Had a blast today

My Girlfriend's two nephews(12&13yrs) are here for the summer, so she brought them over to let them shoot again. Last year they got to use the bolt .22. This time they moved up to semi-auto .22. They had a blast at that for awhile, went through at least 400rds of .22 even when both semi-autos went down from being dirty, they went back to the bolt gun. The 12yr was the bravest, with my hand between his shoulder and the stock he fired one round out of the K-31 Swiss and he actually hit his mark. I got the .410 shot gun he was nervous about shooting that, I assured him it would be fine and had him shoot one round down range so he could see. When he was alright with it we went out and shot trap with it. He missed his first four then a little more coaching he hit three in a row then it was hit and miss, he averaged about 3 out of every 6 he shot. I had a blast with those kids. Like I said the 12yr was the most fun. He even shot 6rds out of the 20ga and the mosin M38 with light loads he fired 8rds. The 13yr loosened up towards the end and he fired the .410 once, but he did not complain about watching. They both had a great time, it was 6hrs of fun. They are even making plans for the next time, but I want them to leave the .410 alone I want them to like the 20ga, it is cheaper. If they have fun, enjoy it and learn from it then price really doesn't matter.

Great to hear another positive story about getting the younger generation involved, responsibly and safely, with firearms!

Those two kids must love you. Great idea to get them interested. I do the same with my grandson the only problem is he's shooting up all my 22LR.

My wifes nieces were here this week from Oregon. I told the oldest (12 year old) i would take her shooting this week. She had an attitude the whole time she was here and only wanted to watch TV all freaking day and night and not clean up her mess, so i said screw it, i aint taking her, lol.

Glad the little ones liked shooting with you, sounds like they had a blast!

They gave my girlfriend a message to give to me, I need to get them more .410 shells. That 12yr love shooting clays. the 13yr loved to just sit with the .22 and plink all day. Rem222 I'm in the same boat. I will be out of .22 in no time at this rate.
