What was he arrested for? Doesn’t say. The gun charges are add-ons.

    Ahh…a model citizen:

A search of the home of a 38-year-old San Mateo man, arrested for allegedly opening fire on a passing vehicle near Fashion Island, has uncovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and ghost gun making equipment, authorities announced on Tuesday.

I know I'm a little out of touch since moving to Oregon, but, I don't see anything in those pictures that is considered illegal, even in California.

On second look the AR at top left looks to be a "Short Barrel Rifle."

        and ghost gun making equipment
Tools. They mean he also had tools. I guess we should all surrender now.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

A "ghost gun" is a gun that was home-built and has no serial number or any record with the state. CA recently passed a law that every home-built firearm must be registered by obtaining a serial number and engraving it on the receiver. So, anyone with unserialized guns has a "ghost gun."

The AR is likely an SBR because it looks like it has a stock, but there is another one that has a "brace" which is federally not considered a stock (yet), but CA would likely treat it as one (no test case yet, but indication is that CA won't have it).

I wonder how they intend to keep ghost guns locked up. My limited knowledge of ghosts involves understanding ghosts easily walk through walls. Since in CA guns commit "gun crime," these ghost guns are likely to escape and cause trouble. I hope the PD has charged their proton packs and has ghost traps on standby...

The centerfire rifles on the left could all be un-registered AW's. That M-1A will be an AW if it has the G.I. flash hider on it. Looks like it does, but the photo isn't clear enough to be sure.

Looks like they got that CHP badge that was with the gold Glock on his instagram page.

Local PD near me in Lincoln posted this a few days ago - this Glock has a giggle switch. It is interesting that PD made no mention of it nor any charges for it (yet?). Maybe they need to test on the range and confirm before adding charges.
