Question and clarification for the first time ar pistol buyer, I am looking to buy an ar pistol and the guy seller i talk to said it is registered as single shot. But he can convert it to semi, is that Legal or illegal here in California? Thank you very much.

If it was converted before 2014, it's fine.
If the receiver is newer than 2013 or the DROS to the current owner was done after 2013, it's technically not legal to convert it.Randall Rausch

Why wouldn't you transfer it without the upper attached and just not even worry about it. He could gift you any upper he likes in the parking lot.

You give up $1000 or more in resale value by not-having vs having a completed semi-auto DROS.
