CA DROS Delay

No. It's not. That is the excuse they are giving but it's a ruse.
22 years of this 'modern' DROS system, and it has been primarily automated, and there has never been this level of delay nonsense, and the frequency now in new DROS requests are no more than any regular buyer frequency uptick in the past, whether post Sandy Hook, Christmas, or some other panic-purchasing increase.
The excuse was plausible a year ago when lines were out the door at many gun stores, but has no merit now. Now it's simply biased disdain against gun owners driving manipulation of "allowance" of a civil-right - underground gun control.
The DOF BOF has no more reduction in staff/servicing than they ever did in the past, necessary to keep this system operating infringement free - regardless of the fact the whole damned DROS/waiting period is one giant smegma-cluster of an infringement in the first place.
Long overdue for CRPA to address the situation.

I wonder if this is due to staffing shortages at the DOJ, like a lot of places right now that can't hire all the people they need. I don't know if that's the reason but it's a plausible explanation.Leave a comment:

Same here, no delays, but it's clear the frequency is increasing and not coicincidence, and it will likely catch up to us too if the CRPA continues to let these repeat infringements disguised as "staff shortage" go ignored.Guess I've been lucky, ten guns in the past six months, different dealers all over SoCal, no delays. When we use our FFL03 + COE to take home the same day, can there be delays? Do they even run the DROS check through the computer on those, I don't know?
Four out of my ten have been FFL03 + COE same day C&Rs.
The DROS process has largely been automatically electronic without need for human intervention for the past 25 years, has not had these BS 'undetermined' delays in these numbers, so there is certainly biased manual manipulation at work here forcibly creating erroneous delays with some form of motivation or intent to antognize gun buyers and dealers.

Can anyone explain this...
Going now 21 days on "DELAY' today,
but "NO DELAY" for ammo purchase today???
Any Theories Are Welcomed.Last edited by squirrelnuts; 05-07-2022, 9:03 PM.Leave a comment:

Still believe undetermined = unofficial gun control when most FFLs will no longer releaseLeave a comment:

CADOJ training program.
Maybe a bridge toll that was not paid when you let a friend use your car?
Was paying my registration at AAA and overheard you have to pay the fee/fine before they will register your car.
Who knows what will kick you into DELAY.

Get COVID, mandated stay home and get pay check.
Sure they will be short staffed till this policy ends.
Response within 10days, pending, approved , delayed, undetermined or denied so if yours was not looked at than push the delay button.
They just pushing delay like a damn snooze button now huh

Firearms and Ammunition Purchaser Information
Under Penal Code section 28220(f)(4), the Department of Justice (DOJ) has up to 30 days to complete background checks on firearms purchasers. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, DOJ typically completed these checks within Penal Code Section 26815(a)'s 10-day waiting period. COVID-19 protective measures have impacted the ability to increase the personnel resources in the DROS unit to address the recent sustained increase in firearms and ammunition transactions without compromising the health and safety of our employees and the community. As a result, firearms and ammunition dealers and purchasers should know that as DOJ employees continue to perform the statutorily required background checks throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, circumstances may compel that background checks are completed after the expiration of the 10-day waiting period for firearms purchases. DOJ will continue to strive to provide the best service and complete these checks in the shortest time possible.Last edited by foothillman; 05-03-2022, 6:36 AM.Leave a comment:
