Cabela’s can't ship holster to California due to Prop 65

FWIW, the formerly Great State of California is totally off the rails.
I recently tried to re-order dog poo bags from a major pet supplier. They told me prop 65 prevented me getting that particular poo bag. WTAF?! We're talking dog poo bags!
Also, youth motorcycles have been banned for quite a while. Why? Lead, they contain lead. IN THE BATTERY! Simple solution would be to not eat the battery, or perhaps some statistics to show how often some kid ate the battery.
Ludicrous idiocy brought to you by the woke crowd.Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum.Comment

Maybe you should try to think like a democrat ! Try explaining to a mother who lost her child after he ate a poo bag ! You dumb republicans have no empathy or compassion for normal people like that .FWIW, the formerly Great State of California is totally off the rails.

I tried buying Kroil and it was not allowed in California. After it was explained the dead dog Biden put on the republican womans front porch drank Kroil, I started to understand these laws all have a purpose .
That said, its high time for democrats to start a buyback program for springs , stocks , defective mags and other gun parts a clever criminal could convert into a lethal weapon to kill a child, or even a dog Joe Biden would carelessly throw on a republicans front porch.Last edited by ja308; 02-17-2022, 10:45 PM.Comment

Calling BS unless the OP can provide a link to the company policy. More BS is everyone that just jumps on the bandwagon without verifying the no ship to California is a fact and that its some company policy and not a California or County restriction because of Prop 65 or something else.
I called Cabelas and there is no company policy as he stated. There are restrictions imposed by California that certain items containing certain materials can't be shipped to California.
They also told me that on the product page you just scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and there is an important notice section if it applies where the buyer will be informed if the shipping destination State/County has any restrictions that prevent shipping.
These are how lies are started and then others jump in and support those lies and damage reputations of businesses following the laws and rules of the state or country you live in. That is wrong.
Apparently, there are people who are unaware that individual cities and counties have local laws or regulations prohibiting the sale of certain items to their zipcodes although its hard to imagine holsters would be one of them but then strange things do happen.
Just look how fast the story changed. It went from:
"It's their policy"
to:
"I called and tried to order over the phone and the guy was really nice. We went through the process and when I gave my zip code it blocked the sale."
It continues because the OP didn't inquire why the sale was blocked he just stated it's their policy. And who swallowed this hook, line and sinker?
It gets deeper with:
"Companies that won't sell to California are part of the problem."
The real problem is people who spread stuff like this and then can't backup their accusations of "It's their policy" when I was able to go on-line (which is where the OP said the policy was posted but couldn't show where it really is) and process an order for a holster that does ship to California.
Where is the policy OP? You said it was on their website, then change up to say it was a phone order. Pure BS.
Go ahead prove me wrong and I'll apologize right here in open forum but I called them, went through the order process to make sure.. Otherwise, why don't you do the right thing and instead of bad mouthing a company correct your thread.
