The only significant breakthrough has been caseless ammunition but that has proven to be a dead end due to the heat issue which is unlikely to be resolved without an empty case to remove heat from the weapon.

It is my point that there have been no revolutionary changes in firearms since WWII.

The biggest change since WWII has been that we have figured out how to make guns out of more materials than just wood and metal.

      Opinions and comments appreciated.

Use of polymers as a frame material is a dramatic change

Substantial capacity increases in reasonably sized handguns

Modularity in designs such as the AR-15, and to a greater degree, the Sig P320

It's unfortunate that most of us remember the hands. The hands.

I bet she wasn't particularly anti-gun, she was just recruited to be the face of a company that happened to stir quite a bit of controversy. Ended up being the face and the hands, unfortunately. There were other players too, the range that shall remain nameless and a few others who jumped the proverbial gun, but best to put it all behind us.
