    Night Sights with WML

I tried searching and couldn't find the thread about nigh sights. There was a lot of talk of how night sights are useless because you're not shooting in the dark. Oddly enough, we also complain about Holosun's auto adjust feature because the panel doesn't get light from your WML and therefore the reticle is washed out by your light. I decided to do a little test, WML in low light with night sights

That is exactly what the night sights are good for - adding contrast and visibility to a scene that is lit enough to recognize what you're shooting at. Although, with a WML, you can usually see your sights pretty well even if they are not night sights.

The main benefit of night sights is when you have enough light to identify the objects around you, which is required in order to use your firearm at all, but the object you are pointing at is dark so you can't see the sight contours well and the extra light sources on the sights allow you to confirm correct alignment.

The tritium in my night sights are not visible with the light turned on. Fiber optic however are visible. My preferred sights now are fiber optic front, black rear.

And their natural painted white dots take over the tritium glow very quickly.

I do see that night sights on pistols are a bit larger and they’re closer to your eyes too. So I see the benefit.

My ultimate take on that conversation is - you should put night sights on a defensive gun because you are better off having them than not having them. They probably will only add marginal utility but you’re better off having them and not needing them than needing them and not having them.
The utility is not marginal in a dimly lit situation. Think of them like fiber optics sights used under the noon sun. Sights that pop allows the shooter to acquire the the sights faster, and hence shoot faster.
