Quick market questions

I read the rules in the private sales forums and they are pretty clear. I have two questions which I wasn't able to answer as the thread examples weren't consistent.

1. Is it proper practice to hide the serial number when selling?
2. Is it allowable/legal to include ammunition when selling a personal firearm?

I apologize if this information may be found elsewhere. I did read the rules and performed some searching before I made this post. Go easy on me

1. Frequently done but it is personal preference. I usually photoshop mine to change or hide numbers.

2. It is allowed and legal though you are limited to 500rds sold per month in CA, and if you are shipping a gun any ammo must be shipped separately

Thank you very much SkyHawk for the good information. Especially the rounds per month! I'm selling a firearm in a caliber that I won't be using going forward. I wanted to include the ammunition as I won't need it anymore. Just happens to be 440rds. Very much appreciated!
