Now, can someone explain "bullet going to sleep"

Bullet going to sleep: basically, MOA performance of a load is better at longer range than at shorter range.

Perhaps some of you long-distance shooters have experienced this, and why so?

I've had my foot go to sleep, my arm go to sleep, my leg go to sleep, but never a bullet go to sleep.

If the bullet is asleep, does it even exit the barrel upon firing?

The belief there is that bullets have some yaw in the first part of its travel and basically stabilizes its spin as it travels downrange.

Ever seen a quarterback throw a football with spin on it that wobbles at first but then smooths out during flight? I know most of my amateur tosses are like that.

Similar effect, I believe.

This is it. Thats the theory anyways. Its been debated quite a bit.

Mine too! That's why I put them in the chamber and hit them in the @$$ with the hammer. That wakes them up...
