Accepting ApplePay for a gun purchase?

Paypal F&F only if you know and trust the person *well*.
Otherwise Paypal F&F can be reversed and also leave your Paypal account suspended and any money in it forfeited when they find out it was for a gun sale.
It called "friends and family" for a reason. It is not called "friends and family and strangers".
The only electronic payment I would take is Zelle or wire transfer. But even those methods take time to confirm, and are not conducive to a same day transaction where someone wants to inspect something and then pay for it and receive it immediately.Last edited by SkyHawk; 02-04-2022, 12:03 PM.Comment

This! ^^^^^
Digital payment systems and credit cards are a bad idea for guns and gun accessories. Anything beyond 4473s we can do to annoy and thwart our evil overlords from tracking this stuff is a twofer. Keeps my stuff (somewhat) private and annoys the piss out of tyrants. The fact that so many posters here would even consider involving some high-tech low-life company to facilitate the private transaction of anything short of real estate (much less a firearm) between two adults is really disturbing.
That gun store counter is getting pretty crowded with the buyer & seller, then the state is there observing and collecting data as well as some electronic money transfer service acting as the bag man.

I accepted cash and only cash for the firearms I sold using this forum. I paid cash, and only cash for the firearms I have purchased through this forum (some of which were shipped directly to my door here in Nevada). (I consider Zelle and USPS money orders to be the equivalent of cash.)
If the buyer cannot come up with cash for the purchase, the buyer cannot afford the gun.Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. So said somebody but not Mark Twain

I wouldn't trust him, it's usually a red flag when the buyer says he only accepts either just PayPal or in your case also apple pay because with Paypal, assuming it's going to go through "goods and services", he has the ability to falsely claim something and request his money back. I've seen it done before to others, I would only take cash if it were me, or even Zelle because it can't be taken back once they've sent it to you.Last edited by SilveradoColt21; 02-05-2022, 7:34 PM.sigpicComment

I understand if he is worried if I or imaginary accomplices plan on robbing him of the cash outside of the FFL, but at mine, they allow for cash exchange within the shop, with a few shop employees and owner around.
Should I just ignore him?[/QUOTE]
Explain to him what you just outlined above. If he doesn't want to pay with cash inside of the FFL, then most likely he doesn't have the funds to be buying the gun.
CASH IS ALWAYS KING! Okay, ZELLE works too!sigpic
1. Treat all guns as if loaded (even when you know they aren't).
2. Never point the muzzle at anything you aren't willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
4. Know your target and what is beyond it (avoid all collateral damage).
