    Buying from GunBroker

For good or bad, made my first purchase through GB. Tracking has it here tomorrow, so far so good.
I'm interested in opinions about buying from a seller with no feedback or minimal (1) feedback? Anyone taken that leap?

I have used gun broker for years, I have recently experienced a purchase where the sipper never shipped, deactivated GB account, all emails and cell phone went unanswered to no working. I had to file BPP claim. It took months to finally receive a claim pay out. 7 months, to receive 350.00 reimbursement after they deducted 100 for deductible. That was after 30 emails, filing claim with BBB in Atlanta. Just today, I made another purchase without issue. GB is a value if you create boundaries.

I've made multiple purchases on GB and never had a problem. However, I would never buy from someone with no feedback or minimal response. I always communicate with the seller through email or phone. I might ask for additional pictures. If you can't or won't send me additional pictures I won't do business.

I have used Gunbroker several times but I have never purchased from someone who has low feedback unless they are local and can meet at a FFL. I've noticed a significant uptick in the number of fraudulent listings over the last few years. Do your due diligence and be cognizant if the deal looks too good and you'll do fine.

I've also seen people with 3 to 5 but all the feedback is from others with 0 to 1 feedback. I like to see feedback from others who have high ratings and aren't just bogus accounts building each other up.

I have had zero issues but only purchase from sellers with over 50 positive reviews. Usually try to go with 100s of reviews.

The bad thing about that limitation is you're dealing mostly with professional sellers. Just like at a gun show with mom & pop sellers, you usually get a better deal from someone that just doesn't want the item any more or is trying to raise a few bucks.

                      Big Pimping's pros.

Hot items. Or so he claims.

I've got over 100 positive feedbacks; both buying and selling on GunBroker. The only time I had an issue was with a new subscriber with no feedback.
After he won the auction he started asking questions that he should have asked before he bid. Finally decided he didn't want the rifle and declined to pay. But because I always offered an extremely "liberal" return policy he said to just pretend that he returned it. I was kinda stuck so now I don't accept bids from buyers with no or low feedback.

How do you do that? Wait for someone to bid, and then boot them if they have no feedback?

I've had multiple no-payers. Some never answer the email when I send it out telling them where to mail the payment. I've had 2 or 3 no-payers on the same box of .357 SIG ammo! I've had people want to know my paypal info when I put in bolded double-size font NO PAYPAL! on the ad. More than a couple times too.

I definitely ding every single no-payer though. I don't want them screwing someone else over.

Buyer Protection Plan, insurance provide to GB who purchase but do not receive item. Deductible is $100.00 of purchase price from posting.
