5.11 vs Voodoo Tactical Double Rifle Case

My cousin just got the Voodoo Tactical double rifle case. It looks solid and it handles everything we threw into it - AR + Benelli M1S90 + two pistol + 500rd .223 + 6 magazines. Damn it was heavy but the weight was evenly distributed.

I just saw a 5.11 double rifle case for about the same price he paid for his 42" bag. It holds two rifles and has padded compartments for pistols.

Who has experience with the 5.11 they'd like to share? I tried the search and google search "calguns 5.11 tactical double rifle case" but couldn't find anything opinions except someone selling one (in 2008).

I had one, it was beefy and protected the rifles well, but the backpack straps were awkward to put on. The straps tended to shift while walking. When put on, the top of backpack was about 6 inches above my head (I'm 5'11). Don't bother carrying with shoulder strap loaded, the shift problem gets worse. If they incorporate a better shoulder strap system that incorporated a belt like a hiking backpack, it would make a lot friendlier. Of course incorporating these features and you get an Eberlestock series packs which cost more that 5.11.

I settled for Maxpedtion Sliver II, which can hold two rifles, not as roomy, but lighter.

i have the 5.11 and like it so far. You can choose to carry the bag high or low on your back. Which is something i don't think the voodoo can do. lol. Handles my AR and 870 just fine.

I just put in a order for the 5.11. We'll see how it stacks up against the Voodoo Tactical. I'll post up a comparison as soon as I get it, fully loaded.

Where are you finding a 5.11 bag for the same price as the Voodoo?

I just bought the last one in Dark Flat Earth, $105+free shipping+free double mag carrier. My cousin bought the Voodoo Tactical 42" for $85+shipping = $100 from Voodoo Tactical via eBay.

They still have the 36" in black for $89.99 (as of 2pm PST)

I myself keep going back and forth as to which of these bags I want. Trying to figure out if the added cost of the 5.11 is worth it.

I have the 5.11 as well. The backpack feature is nice, but as someone mentioned already it does shift around, and has no lower strap to keep the bag centered. Holds plenty of stuff and I've had no other issues with it since.
