Traveling with guns and hotel rules

So the wife keeps wanting to go travel, especially to free states, but I want to bring my firearms and visit the ranges. How do you deal with bringing firearms with you when you stay in hotels? She looks for cheap deals, but then it's no firearms in hotel.
What do folks here do for this? Pick expensive hotels that allow guns? The wife won't pick this.
Travel with no gun? I'm not interested in the trip then.
    Stay in separate hotels???

The issue with traveling with firearms is where you leave them and store them. Your left with either leaving them in the hotel (bad idea) or leaving them in you vehicle while your out and about (also a bad idea.)

Yeah leaving in car is bad, leaving in hotel is bad. Golf club bags, nice idea. Not being a golfer and all, the thought never occurred about those bags.

For the time I rent it the Hotel Room is my home, not theirs. They can ban my dog but not my gun.

Ask Golfers about golf bags getting stolen. They are a prime target and there are probably just as many if not more thugs looking for golf bags as gun cases.

Who is watching your guns when you go to eat or is it order in all the time?

If you store your guns in a safe at home then what is it that you do while motellin?

There are two places you can have your guns, in the vehicle or the motel. I'm not so keen on leaving them in either and not being close by. It isn't they its the guns attracting attention, it's your vehicle plates and everyone knowing you "ain't from here" and they will all know.

If I'm making a trip to visit gun ranges then thats what I'm doing. If my wife wants to travel then we travel and after I've taken care of that then I'll go out and about and visit ranges when thats all I'm focusing on.

                        Thats just me though.

I literally just thought about this:

For Hotel/Motel security you can order a SimpliSafe and take it with you. They are portable and they work well. Packs in a very small bag.

Then, look up laptop cable locks. They have alarms built in and are super loud and can be set for simple disturbance to cable cutting or when they leave the proximity of a module (like someone grabbing a bag and quickly leaving the area.)

With the Simplisafe use the window/door sensors. Two parts and when one part moves away from the other there is a beep when the alarm isn't activated otherwise that super loud high screeching alarm goes off. Real easy to use and you can bundle your cases together and one sensor covers them all.
