Hey, i know all of you guys have been going through this for months now but i pick up my first handgun on Wednesday its a springfield xd 9. And i cant find ammo anywhere!! I stop at every wally world i drive by, every Big 5, every gun shop. Nothing. I mean nothing! Its crazy. Even tried to order online and everything is back ordered. I really want to be able to shot my new toy when i get it but it looks like it will go straight to the safe! Sorry just needed to vent. I know its nothing new its just that i had not seen it first hand yet.

ammo is hard too find, but honestly, if you look hard enough you will find it, you might have to pay more $$$$ though.....just look at the For Sales Section....Comment

I agree with Kingofthehill, the range will typically have something for you to plink with. Your gun will likely get a bit dirty, but at least you will get a chance to try out the new purchase.

Check your local Big5, Turners or other stores in your area that sell ammo. You might get lucky and find one box to break your XD9 in.

9mm has been showing up at J&G sales recently. A couple of days ago they had Federal ball at ~$270/K. They currently have Brown Bear in stock.

I think you just need to be patient. I ran into the same problem when I started using my 9mm Sig again.
Just call the local W_Marts each a.m. to see what they recieved and if they have some zip on down there ASAP. I was able to find about 2-3 boxes per week after calling around the 6 nearest stores.
Although if you are in the City of L.A. then I too don't believe you can buy ammo until after 7/4.
