    Ammo Scam Sites

Well...laid up with COVID, looking around for ammo & components, and I have stumbled upon a new scam. Looks like scammers are setting up fictitious sites with in-demand items "in stock", and promoting payment with non-refundable methods (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal F&F). Some of these are using real FFL info from legit business to try to dupe victims. What surprised me is how "real" many of these sites appear, and it may be worth your time to click though and just see how savvy these criminals have gotten.

Apoligies if I missed this elsewhere, but I figured it would be helpful to start a list of scam sites so anyone trying to verify one of these sites would come across this thread.

The scammers are getting better. i took a look at the first site. The first thing that is a red flag to me is their physical business location. If you put their listed address into google map, you can see it is literally a forest looking residence at the middle of no where in MO.

            They deliver worldwide.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

One that folks really need to watch is Social Media sites that are advertising as Legit Gunshops selling stuff.

One that I almost got sucked into is:
              "Quen Tinde Defense"

They have a Facebook page and are spoofing as a legitimate shop in Glendale AZ. They post really good prices on ammo, but only use Zelle/Bitcoin for payment. I called the shop to ask about a post they had and they said their FB page is being copied.

                One for federal Ammo too

I emailed it to federal and they are aware of the site. Harder to get an overseas criminal site taken down

Here's one that looks real, takes visa
                  Opticsandammo.com
I almost purchased some .457 round ball and noticed they were the cheapest by a lot and free shipping, nothing is that good.

Haven't looked or bought ammo in about 4-5 years either. Guess those guys found a new avenue on scamming people instead of phone calls on cutting your power, social security, and some warranty bs.

I always check reviews on the business if it isn`t a mainstream business.

I have no issue spending a bit more and buying from well known sites. I do the same with car parts.
The old of it’s too good to be true……..

It’s just amazing ot me after what ? ………30 some years of Internet people STILL fall for scams. Anytime I see a “we only accept Venmo or zelle for payment…that just screams scam. ANY real business will have a way to pay with mainstream pay systems. I see we only accept friends and family payment…it’s like the old WWII submarine dive klaxon going off in my head.
F that. I’ll pay more somewhere else that I’ve dealt with and I know I can call and get a person

There are a ton of them for ammo and guns and gun accessories. It has been happening for nearly two years now.

The list of sites is so long that rather than try to catalogue them, it is probably better to just teach how to spot them - because no list will ever be complete. The 'Zelle/Bitcoin payment only' thing is the best tell. If they don't take credit cards, 99.99% chance it is a scam website.

Not ammo, but CZgunstore.com is a total scam.

Get involved, let's fix these 2nd Amendment misunderstandings.

It's not the size of your gun that counts, only the fun factor...

many people don't know that Zelle's policy is that once you send the funds, nothing can be done to recover them, same goes with Paypal friends and family. Scammers make me laugh at how obvious their scams are, this is why I only buy things with my credit card online, if anything happens I file a dispute and take it up with my credit card company.
