    I think I have a sickness . . .

I feel this compulsion to buy this rifle. However, I have absolutely no use for the rifle whatsoever. It is a Safari rifle with poor ballistics in the 458 Win Mag.

What is this sickness called? Is there a cure?

I would do it. You only live once. I have multiple firearms I've never even taken out of the box.

OCD in this business is expensive but rewarding. I bought a rifle because I found an old bayonet in dad's stash, needed something to fit it on.

Every post so far proves you're infected as well. I'm really trying hard not to buy a $2000 rifle I don't need. But I think I'm losing the battle . . .

If anything, it's a range fun gun, just to experience the .458 Win Magnum.

I bought an FN Medallion in .458 Win Magnum years ago for the same reason. Just to get a "kick' out of the cartridge. I had no other use for it, unless I should ever go on an Elk hunt, and even then I think I would take something else I have (.338-RUM). I got the FN at a significant discount because it had a salt-wood stock.

Fortunately the receiver and barrel weren't affected, only the cross-bolts started showing corrosion. Replaced the stock and all was good to go.

I would buy it. In the very near future you might not be able to. That's the way this world is heading.

Ammo offered under that Gunbroker listing had Federal Fusion ammo @ $99 dollars a box. Wow, $5 dollars a shot! Consider reloading a part of your 'ownership plan' for enjoying that rifle.
