    Hawaii, inheriting guns.

I plan to shoot skeet with my bro while visiting, and to bring his brothers gun to him.
We had a family loss this year, the older brother passed and the younger brother would like to keep his only gun (Remington 870). I was told by a gun shop in HI just to go to HPD and he would have to register it, I like the idea but I'm not confidant it's true.

If you have experience with taking / transfering firearms to the islands please tell me about it.

    Thanks Everyone,
    Merry Christmas and Happy 2022!

Gun shop is correct. Go to HPD on Beretania, apply for gun permit/registration. (if you're going Oahu)

This is HPD's (Honolulu Police Department) firearm link. Due to virus, online option is available. (Old school way was take it to HPD)

ps. the above poster's link is for Big Island.

Looks like he'll need to get permission to aquire before you get there.
Once there - unless it's inheritance is specifically spelled out in a will it will need to be transferred via an FFL (fed interstate rules - not state)

This site seems to explain it better

A supposed war in hawaii played by a looney col. currently has the OFH Army telling people to turn in their firearms.

More reason for me never to go there. Disneyland is fine.

Oh, it's my fault. I had no idea that would be taken the wrong way with the comma in there.
But it's not click bait, I don't need comments, likes, or subscriptions.
I'll change the title for the triggered.
