Is there one for buying guns? This $#!+ changes so often ....

Only 1 semi auto handgun every 30 days. What about bolt and lever actions and what does a current hunting license do for me?

In Dec 2021 it's one handgun, not just semi-autos, in 30 days, if buying from a dealer. And, just one semiautomatic rifle in 30 days -

(a) A person shall not make an application to purchase

more than one handgun
or
semiautomatic centerfire rifle

within any 30-day period. This subdivision does not authorize a person to make an application to purchase both a handgun and semiautomatic centerfire rifle within the same 30-day period.

Nothing addresses bolt, lever, or pump action guns in this context (DOJ seems to want this to apply to shotguns, but it doesn't)

Hasn't really changed that much.

One thing I found out on my last dros that wasn't accepted with other handgun purchases. I was able to use my current fishing license as a second ID when buying a handgun. My hunting license is expired so that's out.

Pistol, yes; but the law (quoted above) specifies centerfire rifle, so rimfire rifle, no.
