Daisy BB gun website is terrible

They don't even know what they are selling....must be owned by some chumps now.

    Look at that grip!!
The Daisy Red Ryder is the most famous BB gun in the world, it is a classic tradition that’s as strong now as it was when it was designed.

What's wrong with his grip? That's how I've gripped a Daisy lever action since 1956.

It could be the photographer they hired knows nothing about firearms (Like Heckler & Koch / H&K with the backwards loaded ammo in the pistol magazine)
But I believe I remember from personal experience that some people with larger adult size hands might not be able to get all of their four fingers inside the lever loop of some of the old, designed for youth with small hands, BB (lever action / lever air pump) guns.

Use the gamo site I think it might be better

Gamo offers a complete line of adult precision pellet air rifles and pellet guns. Suitable for competition, hunting, training and backyard plinking.

I would skip bb and go straight to pellets. Better accuracy, wider choice in ammo, you also have better choices in rifles with higher end models available.

I keep my fingers outside the loop for ease of recocking. It sure ain't no Win 94 or BL-22. You can't cock them with the back of your fingers. They be stiff beotches to work the lever on.

The "quick cock" is to slip off shoulder, into vertical position, maintaining LH on forearm, and PULLING the lever, once vertical.

They are gravity fed. Even if you could work the lever with the back of your fingers. [maybe Dwayne Johnson] It won't feed a reload, unless vertical with muzzle up.

BINGO - give that man a cigar. Also there is no need to put a death grip on the forestock since recoil is non existent.

I might be right with adults not being able to and all their fingers inside the loop but I believe pacrat's answer is also correct.

It's been a long time, too long, but I do remember some of those lever actions BB rifles being so stiff that it was painful to do it "The cowboy way" just using the back of your fingers the pump the action.

I remember more fondly when co2 powered BB pistols and rifles came on to the marketplace.
Trading off free and unlimited power source (me muscles) for a pricey but easier action to blast away with.

I have a 415 pistol that had less than a hundred bbs through it. Been stored for months since I got it. I put a new co2 in it today and it’s leaking out the barrel. Wtf. I’m contacting them tomorrow.

I'm 5' 11", of average build. My hand measures 3 1/4" across the fingers adjacent to palm. The finger loop on my Daisy RR, is 4 3/8", end to end, inside.

That's 7/8" of end slop. More than enough room for an extra finger.

I got my first Daisy in 1956, or maybe 57. For my birthday. With the understanding of the basic rules. One of which was no shooting at birds in a low parabolic trajectory. For fear of hitting some one's car, house, or person.

Shooting "steep" was not only OK, but required for the task at hand. Which was protecting our apricot, and avocado trees, and blackberries, from marauding sparrows and crows during summer.

I bought one as a semi joke for a good friends 5 year old: )

It's his first bb gun. Was either that or fireworks .

Red Ryders work great for introducing gun safety with something more than a nerd gun and they punch holes in empty beer cans very well.

Still a terrible picture no matter how fat your fingers are

How dare you fail to use the C-Clamp or the M14 V Hold grip on your Red Ryder BB gun! Have you no shame?

That is why it's leaking. One of the worst things you can do to something that has seals is to let them dry out. Read up on it, there was easy ways to prevent the problem you're experiencing but one of the best ways is to use it instead of just putting it way for long periods of time.

Did you put a drop of oil on the tip of the Co2 cylinder before you put it in?

One of the most common reasons for seal failure is not shooting the cylinder empty ,nearly empty and then removing it or; leaving the cartridge in the pistol and storing it. If you have a full to half full cylinder and remove it the seals can freeze and then they are damaged and usually need replacement.

There probably isn't anything wrong with the pistol that proper use and care won't fix. Since it's already leaking a seal replacement is probably in order. Sending it back and forth might not be worth it. Take it to a local airsoft shop and they can probably help you out for next to nothing if you don't walk-in bad-mouthing Daisy and maybe pick up some oil at the same time. There is nothing special about the oil other than not being something that attacks the seal material, but it always helps to buy something when some shop is doing you a favor.
