I've said this many times. You won't be fleeced if you don't allow the slime to fleece you.

We all can send a message by voting with our wallet (aka NOT BUYING). If you elect to buy, then you are just enabling the slime to keep on doing what they had been doing. It doesn't matter whether supply is tight or not.

Situation is similar with gas prices...... and drugs.

turners is ripping folks off now. but the people are paying it so i cant blame turners for taking advantage of this opportunity.

i remember when they sold the black packs a few years ago. 300 rounds for $100. I thought that was a good deal but people told me it was still too high

I learned my lessons from Obozo. Stacked ammo deep during the cheap Trump years.

I figure I won't need to buy any until another republican presidente gets back in office.

Still need 357 for that new Henry I bought. That stuff is running 80 cents to a buck a round.

Your problem is basing ammo prices on Turners. You want to see real world prices go to ammoseek.

I'm not basing all prices on them, but I am shocked by their prices. I expected their prices to be lower, but evidently that was unrealistic. targetsportsusa is a good thing.

Availability and prices have improved substantially this year, but some bog box stores were slow to raise prices are now slow to lower it again.
Hopefully the overall trend continues for 2022, but with inflation the super cheap prices are probably a thing of the past. Not sure what the new normal will be.

22 is still the common caliber that is still very pricey, hard to get anything below 9-10c.

The less common calibers are still pricey, but a little better, with somewhat improved availability.

OP, I should’ve posted this in the Turner’s sub-forum! Their ammo prices have always been fairly high, but occasionally you’ll find a decent deal there.

Man if I had enjoyed this 2a since then, I would never have to search worry about ammo.

A while back I offered a few 5 gallon buckets of once fired military 9mm, 5.56, 7.72 for free. No one wanted them. It's not that hard to swage or ream the crimp.

Think it's bad in California with the no lead requirements? Imagine being in Alaska with the shipping issues and the hoarding.

Bare shelves, hoarding and price gouging: How a prolonged ammunition shortage is changing Alaska’s gun culture (If you run into a paywall, here's the Yahoo link.)

...What the shortage means for Alaskans is bare shelves in sporting goods stores, price gouging on secondary markets, hunters going into the field with just a few cartridges, fewer rounds fired at ranges by professionals and hobbyists alike, and uncertainty about when or if the situation will revert to the way things were...

Some may see such modifications as a minor inconvenience for consumers, or a market correction from panic buying and fear-mongering that have driven gun sales to record highs in the last two years. But for many Alaskans close to firearms, whether because of ideology, vocation or to harvest their food, the shortages are changing people's relationships to guns...

Frustrated at not being able to buy ammunition online or in stores, more people have tried getting into reloading, the practice of assembling cartridges from the base components. That, in turn, has created a bigger demand for things like gunpowder, primers and brass casings than suppliers can satisfy...

There's a relatively limited set of options for getting ammunition into Alaska. Officially designated a "hazardous material," it comes with restrictions on transportation, particularly along overland routes through Canada. Options for bulk shipments are primarily cargo ships, where freight space is already booked up...

There are four stores that sell ammunition in Sitka, Bergman said, and the shelves in all of them are practically bare. One recently had a single box of .308 cartridges, but at $65 it was about triple the normal price...

While many Alaskans have long valued preparedness and self-sufficiency, many people contacted for this story point to private ammunition stockpiles as one reason it has become so hard to find ammo...

"There's not a shooting culture anymore, there's an owner culture," Cahill said.

Way back when, right out of college, I was looking at teaching salaries in Alaska. They were highest in the nation . The cost of everything was so much more there. Except maybe crab legs.
