Anyone own a GP100 and a SP101

reason for me asking - i want to buy a stainless hammer pivot along with some other stainless stuff im getting for my GP100 - problem is, they are OUT OF STOCK with the pivot pin for the GP100 but they do show they have the hammer pivot pin in stock for the SP101

i remember some time back being told they are the exact same pin and interchangeable - Ruger cs was not very helpful, the girl on the other end of the phone didn't seem to know much

i'd like to try and verify it further before i order so maybe someone on this forum who has both revolvers could let me know if that is true

Numrich does not show the SP 101 and GP 100 pivot pins with the exact same part #. They use a different part number SUFFIX for the sp101 and GP100, but the same picture and main part#. They may be the same part https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/655000D


I have both revolvers but would rather not take them apart to find out unless there are no other options. My hammers are shimmed and that makes it a little trickier getting the pins back in. Plus I would have to yank the grips and trap the main spring.

Numrich is where im ordering from as im trying to get everything from one source to save on shipping - it is strange to have one in stock and not the other, that's what had me concerned if it's the exact same part but i don't know how they inventory their stuff

i looked this afternoon and didn't see that used one, it would've worked i plan to polish anyway - guess my search was only showing new parts

i have shims too on my hammer so i get it - i had a helluva time getting a couple of them in so i try to leave it alone

this is a new GP100 2.5" revolver in blue and i want to change out a few of the parts for stainless - just for cosmetics reasons - the hammer and the trigger are stainless so i figured i'd polish them up real good and add a stainless hammer pin and cylinder thumb release latch

i happened to order the hammer pivot and a crane latch in stainless from Numrich for the purpose of polishing them up and changing them out with the factory pivot and crane that my GP100 came with

the pivot fit fine, as expected but the crane latch has changed with the GP100 - i have 3 other GP's and the crane latch fits fine - it won't fit my new GP, totally different design

the one on the left is the new crane latch design - on the right the old latch


im not sure where i can get this newer latch Numrich wasn't even aware of the change

If the distance from that pivot hole to the tang/finger is the same, then someone with a mill may be able to cut that flat section and the hook to make it work. But a better play is probably to track down the new style part in stainless. But the manual says that part must be 'factory fit' so who knows how to get one from them.

and the suck thing is that Ruger will not sell any of their gun parts to end users so even if they have the latch in stainless (im sure they do) i'm left with either waiting until it becomes available on the secondary market of find a competent enough person to do the kind of mill work you're talking about - sigh
