Active listings don't really help because that's all the dreamers without any actual sales.
I use completed sales and sort by bid count so the auctions with the most bids are at the top and the ones with no bids are at the bottom.
Sold listings with multiple bidders are the best way to gauge real market values.
Sold listings with only 1 bidder are often buy-it-now sales (people who are impatient and don't want to bid in an auction) or occasional guns that were under-priced and sold quickly so I don't really use those as market price basis data points.
Completed listings with no bids are generally above market price and therefore unable to find a buyer.
