The scope is a Leupold VX-III. The rear (ocular?) lens is 37mm with female threads. All the lens covers/filters I can find have female threads. Where can I find a 37mm (polarizing?) lens filter with MALE threads?

Bear in mind that a polarizing filter will reduce the light by approximately 1/2. Maximum polarization occurs at 90 degrees from the light source.
While a polarizer may help reducing reflections and will darken a blue sky, the light loss will not be helpful.

Another thought:
I am a photographer. I rarely use any filters because even very high-end filters affect image quality. A filter on a rifle scope will do the same.
A 1A filter is a good idea in very dusty or raining conditions. Be sure to attach it to the objective on the scope.
If you do get a polarizer, be sure to get a 'linear' polarizer. The 'circular' polarizers for digital cameras will not work well on a scope.
I use B&W filters. They aren't inexpensive but are very high quality. B&H Photo has them in many different sizes.
