Spindle on an Aimpoint - what is this thing

    I found these pics posted.

What is the attachment on the end of the battery compartment???

Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

And as I said - pics from the web. Not my pics or hands

It is a harmonic balancer to attenuate vibration and prolong the life of the optic.

                        Chupacabra. Maybe Bigfoot?

Seriously, I’d guess an extension to allow a non standard battery to fit. What kind is in there?

It could also be a part of an early flip to side type mount, but it appears to have a mount on the bottom of it already.

It's a dingus that happens to fit the threads.

I imagine the owner also has a JB welded toilet seat.
