Supply is catching up to demand and people are trying to get as much as they can before everything normalizes.
On the same token, there might be people that overpaid and are trying to offload before their investments (rifles) go into the red too far.

Ah, this is the beginning of the great price crash of '09 that we've all been waiting for!

The next 6 months should be a buyers market

I think in the rest of the country it may, but until the ammunition bills are voted upon in CA it will be rush rush rush.
Besides, I have said it to my friends all along, it will be far easier to ban/regulate/tax ammunition than it will be to ban/regulate guns.

AR's are stuffed to the gills and prices are falling. I called to cancel a 9mm AR order and the CS person told me she had tons of cancellations and after waiting for five months it would be a shame for me to cancel now, but I did anyway as I found a used unit for less cost...

Ammo prices are sure to follow only more so as its also more prone to an even bigger fall off the cliff due to retreats in metal prices. Not to mention AR's have some deliniation in brands, etc...while ammo for the most part is...ammo.

Supply is finally catching up. Demand is starting to go down. Hopefully ammo will follow this nice trend. Just a few months ago people were stocking up on Pmags, not hard to find at all right now

Many of the opportunists are now caught with their pants down. They probably bought up the ARs as soon as they were showing up, hoping to turn a quick profit. No different than the real estate boom and bust.

I'm refereshing riverofguns.com every 10 minutes! That's the closest thing to a foreclosure notice for guns as we got.

I've been doing that for the past 2 weeks. Got lucky when Rainier contacted me on a fresh supply of Noveske N4 uppers.
