So I got to shoot a .50 BMG today

Group of us went down to the range and one of the guys had a registered Serbu BFG-50 http://www.serbu.com/top/bfg50.php

Holy cow that was awesome. I would find myself chuckling every time someone shot it. Surprisingly mild recoil. One guy who is kind of tiny shot it, and the look on his face was priceless. For a moment, he looked like he wasn't sure if he was alive or dead lol We were shooting from a covered firing line, so the relatively enclosed space compounded the roar of the muzzle blast.

If you ever have the chance to shoot one, take it!

My wife and I rented a 50 a year or so ago and im sold on them. It brought back childhood fun and I had a huge grin for at least 3 days. Im a big guy but it gave me butterflies in my stomach when I shouldered the thing. Now im trying to save for 50dtc.

That is the fun of shooting 50BMG's. Takes a week or two to go away and can relapse when you think about firing it! Also, that grin is highly contagious. I know I have passed it to many. I have a hold folder of pics of new shooters with that grin from firing my gun. I even added two more this week.

The Cordova shooting center is were my wife and I rented it. Nice people my wife and I enjoy punching paper there. I want to take her there again and get some video until I can buy myself one.
