Why didn't Glock produced a slim framed 45acp the size of the Glock 17 ?

I owned a 6 shot Glock 36 ( size of a Glock 19 ), but a 10 round 45acp the size of a Glock 17 with a slim frame and slide would have been great.

I know they did a G30s, but no one bought out a full size model - I would have liked to have owned 1 of those.

Dang it Glock you had a chance and decided the G36 was a better idea ..

Oh yeah, and put an extra mag for us CA Glock fans ya knuckheads ..

Yes, the G30S is what you want. I carry one often. They still make them.

10rds, slim slide from the G36. Can also use 13rd mags and a Xgrip spacer, for those times when you just have to be in Oakland. And you can carry a 26rd mag as a backup.

I'll check with the LGS on the G30s.

      I currently own a 21sf, 30, 36, but a full size slim frame / slide 45 ( size of a G17 ) would have been nice also.

          AFAIK...
Before the 2010s, the low sales numbers on the Glock 36 convinced them there was no market for a full sized single-stack large framed (.45/10mm) pistol.

Yes, the G36 was kinda the odd ball of the group, I though it was alright but the low ammo capacity made me turn away from it.

I know my Star PD only held 6+1 also, but that's another deal entirely.

            Thank you.

Just note they are not on the roster.

Same frame but G37 slide is 3mm wider than 17. G30S and G17 slides are the same width. And with a 13rd mag and Xgrip, the 30S gives you the feel of a full size frame, but the frame is 3mm wider than G17/G37.

So pick where you want the extra 3mm width: in the slide (G37) or the frame (G30S). Just remember that one of them has a far greater selection of easier to obtain ammo...

The first run of Glock 37 had the same slide width as the 17/22/31.
Then a LE agency had issues with the .45GAP ammo that they were using for practice, loaded by their local ammo remanufacturer, which caused lawyers to happened and the slide width was increased as a CYA against kabooms.

Maybe that will be their next gun, the 45/45x series with different metals and engineering, anything can happen. Oops, they missed the marketing opportunity on that one...

You can also make your own G30S, by taking a slide from a G36, and mating it to a G30 grip frame.

I've had my 36 for 10 years, absolutely love it. 6+1 is just fine with me, results in a very compact, lightweight carry gun. Accurate, totally reliable. I have Pearce +0 base plates on all 5 of my mags for the pinky rest.

My other preferred carry gun is a 442. 5 rounds, that is okay with me also.
