    Night sight install

Anyone know of a place to have my Glock night sights installed in the east SF Bay Area? I live in the San Ramon/ Danville area.

It's a pretty simple install I've done a few just use a plastic or brass punch on the rear so you don't damage the finish

A proper tool is always preferable to any punch/hammer, especially with night sights, which generally contain Tritium in glass vials.

            They should, not sure how much they'll charge you;
if it's $50 or more, I'd go online a buy a sight tool.

I picked up a G27 for dirt cheap, one problem being that the rear night sight would not fit the slide dovetail and was sticking out the left side of the slide about a quarter inch.
Trying to drive the sight in did not work, the sight's dovetail base had to be slightly reduced with a jeweler's file to get the sight to fit the groove.
Sometimes it is not just a matter of getting a pusher tool, fitting may be needed.

In some instances (at least with glock sights on the PDP) you drift the sight out left to right, then install right to left.

Assuming you're not just going to be 1 and done with this pistol I would suggest just buying a sight pusher tool. It'll pay for itself after only a couple of uses.

Yep, I've used my pusher many times. Used twice and it's paid for.

no doubt a light sanding of the sight base/sides helps the installation process

the right tool is always good investment

What Glock and which sights did you get?
Getting the Glock tools for rear and front sight is always good, since you can never have just one Glock.

Gen 3 17, and I bought Glock night sights from someone here.

                            Twist:

The front sight screw is tiny and is easy to over-torque, so be careful.

Use a little acetone to clean the screw and the threaded hole in the slide. Put one small drop of Blue Loctite on the threads and then tighten it down.

A good quality sight tool for the rear sight will make the job easier and much less prone to damaging either the sight or the slide dovetail.
