Experiences with Red Army Standard .223?

I'm looking for some bulk steel-cased 55gr .223 for general range and BLM plinking. LAX Ammo has Red Army Standard by the case for about 55 cents/round. Not a /great/ price, but not terrible. Hickok45 did a review of this stuff and it was okay, not great but good enough for a fun afternoon. Anybody have experience with this stuff in an AR? Was it reliable?

pretty much all steel cased ammo has huge charge variances. It will work but past 100 yards it is all over the place. I can't run red army o rtula in my machien guns because the cases stick. barnual, wolf, and silver bear no porblems.

I found Russian steel .223 to be a bit weak. It's also harder on your extractor.

In store price? Or online price? They don't honor the online price, if you go in the store...

Try 100 or 200 rds in your AR clone first and see if it runs ok. If it does then go balls deep and buy it if the price seems good to you.

*I use steel cased for plinking/blaster purposes all the time and have done so for many years. All my AR clones run fine. YMMV.
*Remember that not all 223 works in AR clones that are gassed for NATO spec 556 ammo.

It's basically all I buy. I have had no issues with it.
