Dros Question

i've come across threads like this before here in CG. i don't recall a re-DROS needed. Granted it's a FFL/store that sold it to you. not sure how different that can be to shipping a firearm for repair (which I did > a decade ago and I shipped it myself).Comment

Hmm, I believe the owner of a firearm can send it to any gunsmith (also a FFL) and when the work is completed they can return it directly to the owner. That's how manufacturers do it when they repair firearms, and places that upgrade like CGW, CZC, and more...Comment

^^^^YES^^^^
Once DROSed as YOUR FIREARM. You can send it direct to ANY FFL for repair, upgrade, modification, Assembly, etc.
Once done, that FFL can send it direct, door to door, back to you.
Your LGS FFL is an ignorant wanker. Who wasted your time and money and caused you grief.Comment

The short answer is a delay simply means the DOJ needs more time to determine you firearms eligibility. It may have something to do with you, it may have nothing to do with you. These reasons are only known to them.
It doesn't matter if the gun or another gun is already registered to you or if you just ran a background check. Every DROS is a "new" DROS. Calling DOJ will do nothing but slow them down as they have to allocate resources to the phones, besides they shouldn't talk to you anyways as they have no acceptable way to verify your identity over the phone. Your only option is to sit tight and wait it out. The DOJ cannot keep people in delay for more than 30 days, if 30 days goes by and there is no response from your dealer you need to call him and ask him to check your status on your DROS.
My experience has generally been approvals come within 2 weeks of a delay. Past that, your odds of a undetermined increase quite a bit. But let's not put the cart before the horse, right now you just have a 10 day wait + X.
Good luck friend.Comment

Did you send receiver direct to ffl assembling or did you ship thru same ffl as dros? If shipped thru them then your fkup.Comment

Jacosta;
As well as already stated;
If perchance your ignorant wanker FFL, refuses to "RELEASE ON UNDETERMINED".Your LGS FFL is an ignorant wanker. Who wasted your time and money and caused you grief.
And the needless expensive DROS that went "delayed" for no logical reason [which happens often for no logical reason] goes the 30 days and becomes "undetermined status".
Your are truly screwed.
You need to contact Wanker FFL and ask. DO YOU RELEASE ON UNDETERMINED STATUS?
AND IN THE FUTURE ..... VERY VERY IMPORTANT.
ALWAYS ASK THAT QUESTION BEFORE YOU DO ANY BUSINESS WITH A FFL.Comment

Out the FFL. Many of us would like to know and never step foot in it.
