Question about Remington 700 handgun W/ brace.

Bolt action pistol should be fine iirc since some of the roster rulea only apply for semi-auto. Hence why New single action revolvers can still be brought into caOriginally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... Not ordering from those clowns again.Originally posted by PrepperGunShopTruthfully, we cancelled your order because of your lack of civility and your threats ... What is a problem is when you threaten my customer service team and make demands instead of being civil. Plain and simple just don't be an a**hole (where you told us to shove it). -
Still needs to be single shot. A bolt action repeater like this or the Franklin Armory would need to be on the roster.
Maybe the store is making it single action only?Comment

Just get a contender/encore pistol and put a brace on it.

Just to be precise, roster rules apply to revolvers as well. They apply to all "handguns." Single action revolvers are just explicitly exempt from the roster if they meet certain size requirements.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

It is a CA legal off-Roster bolt-action repeating pistol.
Because it is off-Roster, a CA FFL dealer can only transfer is via exemption (LEO sale, PPT, etc).sigpic

CA unsafe handgun laws applies to all "handguns".
The Remington 700CP is a CA legal handgun, but it is not listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale.
Therefore, it can only be transferred via exemption (LEO sale, out-of-state intra-familial gift, PPT).
It does not qualify for SSE2; because it is a bolt-action repeating pistol, not a bolt-action single-shot pistol.
~repeating = has a magazine capacity
~single-shot = does not have a magazine capacity, cartridges are loaded/unloaded directly from the firearm's chamber.
It can be modified to meet SSE2 by installing a fixed 0 round magazine/block, which needs to be contained in the firearm and can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action or is permanently attached in the firearm's magazine well.
Per CA DOJ BOF, a SSE2 pistol needs to remain configured as a SSE2 pistol, while in CA, in order to remain CA legal and modifying it so that it is no longer SSE2, can be considered manufacturing an unsafe handgun in CA.
^Replacing the fixed 0 round magazine/block/sled with detachable magazine would equate to making an illegal unsafe handgun.
That said...
There is nothing about the 700CP that prevents Remington from submitting it for testing, to be listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale.
It's up to the manufacturer if they want to submit the test models and pay the fees to have it listed.
If it passes the CA DOJ testing, then it would be listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale as a bolt-action repeating pistol.sigpic
